Economic Affairs Prefecture Has New Secretary

VATICAN CITY, SEPT. 4, 2007 (Zenit.org).- Benedict XVI appointed Monsignor Vincenzo Di Mauro as the new secretary of the Prefecture for the Economic Affairs of the Holy See.

Monsignor Di Mauro, 56, leaves his position as the delegate of the ordinary section of the Administration of the Patrimony of the Holy See and will be ordained a bishop, the Vatican press office announced Monday.

He replaces Monsignor Franco Croci, who is retiring upon having reached the age limit. The president of the prefecture is Cardinal Sergio Sebastiani.
