Zagreb, Croatia – A Ukrainian-language book “My Memories of Fr. Mykhailo Yurysta, His Life, Works and Times (1897-1982)” by Ivan Borshchevskyi was presented at the premises of the Croatian Association Mother of Croatia. Its author is a priest of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC) of Ukrainian origin, who was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina and now conducts his pastoral work in Croatia. news.ukrinform.ua posted the news on 21 November 2007.

Fr. Borshchevskyi’s book features memoirs, highlights the resettlement process and describes life of not only priests of the UGCC but also of many other Ukrainians who in search of a better life settled in Bosnia and Herzegovina and later in Croatia. The book also provides historic facts and materials about the work of the Church and Ukrainian organizations aiming to preserve the Ukrainian language, culture and national identity.

The preface to the book was written by Docent Yevhen Pashchenko of the Ukrainian Studies Department at Zagreb University and head of the CHORUS Ukrainian-Croatian Society. It was reviewed by Fr. Zvonimir Kurechych of the Roman Catholic Church and Fr. Petar Repchen of the Greek Catholic Church.
