Eucharistic Congress Panel Gets New Leader

VATICAN CITY, OCT. 1, 2007 (Zenit.org).- Archbishop Piero Marini, who has served 20 years as master of papal liturgical ceremonies, has been appointed president of the Pontifical Committee for International Eucharistic Congresses.

Benedict XVI's appointment of the 65-year-old prelate to the new post was announced today by the Vatican press office.

The next International Eucharistic Congress will be celebrated June 15-22, 2008, in Quebec.
